Barking College has a recent history of developing its use of e-assessment. The original impetus to move away from a frenetic three weeks of paper shuffling around induction time started in Basic Skills. However, with the college requirement for all students to do an initial assessment to identify their level of literacy and numeracy, as well as learning styles, the pressure was on to find a manageable solution for assessing thousands of new students each academic year.
