We love a good news story when it’s do with English and maths and in Walney this week, that’s exactly what we got.
Megan Baron was forced to leave her job at a nursery last year because she couldn’t progress to a level 3 qualification without GCSE maths and English passes.
But following the Government u-turn that now allows learners the choice of GCSE or Functional Skills, Megan has returned to her job to continue her education and work and start a level 3 apprenticeship programme.
