Great news for apprenticeship inclusivity

British Sign Language qualifications will be accepted for apprenticeships instead of English Functional Skills , in a move to encourage more starts among deaf people. The changes come into effect from April.

A spokesperson from DFE explained that BSL will become a formal alternative qualification to English Functional Skills for people who use BSL as their primary language.
