So what are T-levels?

T-levels are the Government’s new two-year technical study programmes. Initially, from September 2020, there will be three T-levels available: construction, digital skills, and childcare and education, with further courses available from 2023. T-levels will become the third major option available to 16-19 students alongside apprenticeships and A-levels.

English and maths will continue to be offered – functional skills and GCSE – for learners who haven’t yet achieved level 2. For higher achievers, A-levels may also be offered alongside the T-level.

Options on completion include higher-level apprenticeships, higher education or moving into skilled employment.
